To clarify what is below...when you add another name to the present account you will not lose anything...IE: contacts...address list. etc...You will have to send an email to all your friends advising them of the new email address...if someone makes a mistake and sends it to the email address you don't like anymore it will go to the same inbox so you don't lose any messages.

My Yahoo Answers account is inaccessable do to an email address change?

I have over 15,000 points in my original account (Walter E or Walter E. - I've forgotten), with an original email address let's call email A. In anticipation of changing providers, I made a new account here which you are seeing with this low point total within email B. I tried linking them two weeks ago with no luck. But the real problem is:

Today the original premium account was closed so they gave me a new a free Yahoo account, email C. When I log in under the original email account A it says %26quot;Incorrect password%26quot;. When I log in under the newly-given account C (as of today - the third in this series of nightmares) they say: %26quot;Sorry - that account has been taken%26quot;, and there is no way to link A or B or to C so I can maintain the original points with the new email address (C). Also can't see my profile.

Immediately have your computer checked for a bug or 'bugs.'

Once it is clean of pests, install a firewall and an anti-virus program if you do not have one yet.

I strongly recommend a program for malware and adware also.

Changing your password may not be enough to secure your E-mail account again, but try it and see how it behaves.

You cant change your main Yahoo ID but you can add profiles/alias to your account. Heres how:

On your My Yahoo page at the top it will have welcome(your name) underneath in blue it says My Account click on it and then on the right hand side of the page it says Public Information: Public Profiles and it has a list of the different names you have created underneath it click on Edit/Create Profiles then click Create New Public Profile then fill out the info. After you're done click Make Default on the right hand side of the screen and that is the name it will show for you.
