If someone's computer was hacked into would changing their email address to something different cure it?

Someone sent me an email which said, because their email account had been hacked into, they now had a new email address to be used. However, the new address (their name at yahoo) wasn't much different, simply reversed their name and still at yahoo. Were they kidding me?!If someone's computer was hacked into would changing their email address to something different cure it?Email accounts are different than computers.

If someone had their account hacked, creating a new account (new name) is one way to deal with it.

Your friend is simply letting your know what his new email address is. Not much different than if he'd gotten a new telephone number. If someone's computer was hacked into would changing their email address to something different cure it?You should report them or tell the police because its illegalIf someone's computer was hacked into would changing their email address to something different cure it?In no way would that help the computer. It would help that they use a different email because then the hacker wouldn't know the new one. Most likely they were kidding you. Really no one cares about other peoples email accounts. When you contact yahoo about it, they will most likely say the same thing. Hacking a computer is done with internet addresses (IP) and what not. They aren't hacked by an account, but they can be hacked into through the actual email program if it left an open hole somewhere. (of course I have never done that). It's illegal. If someone's computer was hacked into would changing their email address to something different cure it?Ask them a question that only the real person would know the answer. If someone's computer was hacked into would changing their email address to something different cure it?Your question is wrong and should be worded as follows.

Is it possible for someones email address to be taken over by a %26quot;spammer%26quot; a spammer is someone who uses intrusive adware to steal your email address and use it to send emails to countless users advertising items such as viagra etc. So this is not a true hack of a computer but a hijack of an email address, and changing to another email address does help.

So try asking this question.
